The first newsletter of the National Land Value Capture (LVC) Programme, a tripartite partnership of the Cities Support Programme (CSP) in National Treasury, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy
(LILP), and the Development Action Group (DAG) has been launched. This edition reflects the collective achievements, lessons, and innovations that emerged over the past year. The newsletter highlights:
- Peer-to-peer learning workshops on municipal land release and Inclusionary Zoning, convening officials from across the country.
- Targeted technical support to metros on land packaging and preparation, as well as monitoring and evaluating Inclusionary Zoning/Housing policies.
- New research outputs, including case studies, advisory notes, and community-facing tools that broaden public understanding and strengthen institutional practice.
- A spotlight on the mainstreaming of Inclusionary Zoning through peer to peer learning and dialogue, including the landmark work undertaken with Stellenbosch Municipality.
- A look ahead at 2026 priorities, including piloting a land release tracking tool, expanding technical support, strengthening the LVC evidence base, and continuing to build a national community of practice.
