The Urbanisation Review is a diagnostic analysis that seeks to:
  • Clarify the economic, social and fiscal implications of the evolution of the national urban system and individual metropolitan areas.
  • Identify key policies that are most likely to promote inclusive economic growth.
  • Highlight policies that need to be recalibrated.
  • Provide a framework for prioritising and sequencing policy initiatives and institutional reforms
Nine background papers were prepared during the urbanisation review process as well as an overall report ‘chapeau’, which summarises the findings and conclusions of the background papers and further seeks to be integrative, and to draw the findings and conclusions into an overall narrative and set of recommendations.
